Robert's Obituary
Robert Edwin Browne, 82, of Bedford, MA, died on April 14, 2021.
The son of the late Gerald and Henrietta Browne, he was born in Detroit, MI. He is predeceased by his wife of 45 years Margaret Louise (nee Schlichting) Browne.
Robert graduated from Dondero High School in Royal Oak, MI. At Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute he earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in electrical engineering. Robert had an extensive career as an engineer at Raytheon. He also earned both ham radio and private pilot licenses, and flew as a member of the Raytheon Employees Flying Club.
His church family is the Lutheran Church of the Savior (LCS) in Bedford, MA, where he served as an usher, host, and treasurer. He also participated on the finance committees of LCS and the Delray Beach Club near his winter residence in Boynton Beach, FL. He enjoyed spending time outside strolling around his garden or on the beach and greeting neighbors and their dogs.
Robert’s thoughtful gentle nature and dry sense of humor will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his daughter Sage and son-in-law Donald Veino of Westford, MA, his son Craig and daughter-in-law Josephine Browne of Tampa, FL, and 3 grandchildren: Erin and Carson Browne and Raeden Veino.
A private service will be held for family members.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Lutheran Church of the Savior, 426 Davis Rd., Bedford, MA.
