Obituary

William E. O'Toole, of Bedford, died on June 28, at the E.N. Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital.

He was the son of the late John and Minna (Lua) O'Toole and was raised in Belmont.

Following his graduation from Belmont High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and honorably served from 1959 to 1962, reserves until 1965.

He used the GI Bill to attend Northeastern University and earned his associate's degree in business.

Over the years, he worked across multiple industries as a purchasing agent.

He was an avid sports fan. He especially loved Boston College football and as a season ticket holder, he attended many games and particularly enjoyed going with his grandson.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jean (English) O'Toole, his children and their spouses, William O'Toole Jr. and Michael of Pelham, NH, Stephen O'Toole and Maggie of Burlington, VT and Alison Oates and Bob of Bedford, his nine grandchildren, Stephen, Jessica, Conner, Ryan, Dylan, Owen, Olivia, Robert and Matthew, his newborn great grandson, Cooper William and his sisters, Helen O'Toole and Alice White and his brother, Thomas O'Toole. He was predeceased by his brothers, John and Robert O'Toole.

Visitation will be held at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., Bedford, on Wednesday, July 9, from 8:30-10:30 AM, followed by a funeral Mass at St. Michael Church, 90 Concord Rd., Bedford, at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/ The Jimmy Fund, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284.
