On December 28, 2021, another member of America's Greatest Generation was lost with the passing of Bill Landfear, at the age of 99.

Born July 5, 1922, in Cambridge, he most recently made his home in Dracut. He was the son of the late Albert and Amy (Brown) Landfear.

After he left high school, he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps in New Hampshire. In 1942, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served 3 years in the South Pacific during World War II in the Marine Raider Battalion. He was recalled during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Texas.

He worked at National Chemical Research Corporation in Newton as a test lab manager until his retirement in 1985.

In retirement, he enjoyed being outside in the sun, puttering in the yard, and spending time with family. He enjoyed traveling to St. Pete Beach in Florida and taking occasional trips to Foxwoods Casino.

William was extremely proud of his military services and attended Raider Reunion events all over the country.

He was the loving husband of the late Anne (Hindle) Landfear. Cherished father of Deborah Pichulo and her husband Raymond of Dracut and the late Nancy Landfear, dear brother of Ruby Whalen of FL and Helen Peake of MI and the late Robert and Arthur Landfear and Nancy Williams, beloved grandfather of David and Paul Pichulo and great grandfather of Tressa, he is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be private.
