William H. Bowen, II, 71, of Bedford, died on November 29, 2025, at the West Roxbury VA Medical Center.

He was the son of the late Boyce and Wilma (Hayhurst) Bowen and was raised in West Virginia.

William honorably served in the United States Army from 1975 until 1981. His service includes avionic mechanics, working special ops with the Black Hawk helicopters. His decorations include Expert Badge M-16 Rifle, overseas Service Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon and Good Conduct Medal (2nd Award). He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant.

He spent many years working in the computer industry as a computer specialist repairing industrial systems, last of which was Raytheon Industries, before retiring to ill health.

He enjoyed dancing at the Fireside with his partner, Donna, as well as playing with his cat, Zoey and his dog, Sega. He would play Uno with his son, Trent and cribbage with his friend, Leon. He also loved bowling and had gone to leagues and tournaments before falling ill.

He will be remembered as a man of God and country and as a wonderful father and partner.

William is survived by his mother, Wilma (Hayhurst) Bowen, age 94, from Ohio, son, Trent Bowen of Chelmsford, daughter, Jennifer Fula of Wilmington, stepson, Brian Williamson, brother, Richard and sister-in-law, Janet (Sis) Bowen of Ohio and partner, Donna Mooney of Tewksbury. He is also survived by extended family in both Ohio and West Virginia. His younger brother, Terrence Bowen, previously deceased.

A memorial service will be held at the EN Rogers Memorial Hospital Chapel (VA Bedford) 200 Springs Rd., Building 81, Bedford, on Friday, December 19, at 2pm.
