William John Aldorisio Jr., age 80, of Bedford MA, passed away at the Kaplan Family Hospice House on May 1, 2013, while surrounded by his family after a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was the beloved husband of Barbara (Scott) Aldorisio, with whom he celebrated 54 years of marriage.

He was born in Norwood MA on January 7, 1933, and was the eldest son of three children of Pauline and William Aldorisio. He grew up in Revere, attending Revere High School and graduated in 1951. He served in the Air Force with the 49th Fighter Squadron during the Korean conflict. After his discharge, he worked at Lincoln Labs in Hanscom for two years. While working, he attended MIT nights graduating with an engineering degree in 1965. Subsequently, he worked at MITRE in Bedford and retired in 1995 after thirty-five years of service.

After retiring, William became actively involved in Bedford politics, writing articles in the Bedford Minuteman's Letters to the Editor section, as well as sending weekly emails informing Bedford residents on town happenings. He was a brilliant writer and passionate about town and state politics, and his writing always provoked active discussions. He was an active member of the Bedford Council on Aging and co-founded Political Discussion groups held weekly at COA. He attended Town Meetings and was a strong force in driving town policies in Bedford.

William Aldorisio was a devoted husband, loving father of five and grandfather of ten. In addition to his wife Barbara, he is survived by his sister Patricia (Noftle) of Falmouth MA, and brother Paul Carr of San Francisco, daughter Laura; son David, his wife JoAnne and daughters Rachel, Gianna; daughter Gale and daughters Kristen, Maria, and Julia; daughter Jill, her husband Bob Webb, children Justin and Emma; daughter Susan and her husband Tony Campano, daughters Paige, Madelyn and Sydney.

Following the interment at Shawsheen Cemetery in Bedford, family and friends are invited to the Council on Aging, 12 Mudge Way, Bedford, to celebrate Bill's life.
