Warren Edward Knell, 88, of Bedford, died July 9, 2025.

He was raised in Watertown and was a graduate of Watertown High School. He enjoyed many happy childhood years growing up in a big, close-knit family and singing in the choir of St. John's Methodist Church in Watertown.

After high school, he served in the Army Reserves. Warren proudly worked at Polaroid Corporation in Waltham for over 35 years and enjoyed a post-retirement position assembling kayaks for Walden Sports.

Throughout his life, Warren loved getting away to New Hampshire and Maine. He enjoyed fishing and had many fond memories of fishing trips with friends to Bear Spring Camps in Maine.

He lived in Bedford for 32 years and raised his family and had also lived in Watertown as well as Merrimack and Moultonborough, New Hampshire. He and Mary Lou enjoyed their retirement life in a beautiful spot in Moultonborough, and the family has many fond memories of visiting them there.

He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Annie Knell, his dear wife, Mary Lou Knell, his son, Matthew Knell, and his seven brothers and sisters and their spouses.

He is survived by his children, David Knell and his wife Alice (Spencer) of Arnold, MD and Cheryl (Knell) Stebe and her husband Thomas of Bedford, and his grandchildren, Christopher and Elizabeth Knell and Ryan and Evan Stebe, his sister-in-law Ruth Adams, and many dear nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd, Bedford, on Thursday, July 17, from 4:00 - 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 18, at 11:00 AM, at the chapel of Newton Cemetery, 791 Walnut St., Newton, followed immediately by burial.
