Walter A. Ciak, 94, of Bedford, died on December 28, in Reading, Mass.
Mr. Ciak was born in Easthampton, Mass. on January 1, 1920, and he was the son of the late Henry and Anna (Geryk) Ciak and brother of the late Joseph and Stanley Ciak.
He attended the University of California, Northeastern University and Harvard where he studied engineering. He worked as an engineer at High Voltage in Burlington until his retirement in 1986.
Mr. Ciak proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.
He enjoyed classical music, sports, especially skiing, and was an avid reader and member of St. Michael Parish.
A former resident of Arlington, Mass., he had lived in Bedford for the past 61 years.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Anne M. (Burns) Ciak, three children, Linda Prager and her husband Lee of Berlin, MA, Carl S. Ciak, M.D. and his wife, Barbara Ciak, M.D. of Meredith, NH and Diane Shannon of North Richland Hills, TX, seven grandchildren, Cynthia, Kevin, Jeffrey, Jessica, Michael, Mark and Paul and 12 great grandchildren.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Michael Church, 90 Concord Rd., Bedford, on Saturday, January 3, at 9:00 A.M.
Interment will follow at Shawsheen Cemetery in Bedford.
