Virginia M. O'Grady, 96, of Bedford, died on January 8, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.

She was one of five daughters of the late Lawrence W. and Gertrude (Holmes) Moore.

She was a graduate of Belmont High School and went on to attend Emmanuel College in Boston where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree. After college, she worked as a medical secretary.

In 1953, she married Dr. John W. O'Grady in Belmont at Our Lady of Mercy Church. They lived briefly in Germany and made Winchester their home in 1954 where John was a practicing physician.

They raised their family in Winchester and resided there from 1954-1990 before moving to Bedford.

Virginia was a member of St. Michael Parish and former member of St. Mary's Church in Winchester. She was also an avid golfer and member of the Meadowbrook Golf Club in Reading.

She will be remembered by her family as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister who cherished time with her family.

She was predeceased by her husband, John and her sisters, Gertrude Ryan, Patricia Johnson and Phyllis Sevigny.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Ellen Conroy and Steve of St. Augustine, FL, John O'Grady and Maureen of Beverly, Susan Salvucci and Robert of Chelmsford, Mary Leyden and Peter of Northfield, MA, Lawrence O'Grady and Elizabeth of Newburyport and Megan DiPanfilo and Jay of Salem, NH, also survived by her sister, Lauretta Cloherty of Salem, MA, 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Private interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Virginia's name to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St. Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
