Tom was born in Cambridge, and he grew up in Watertown, Mass. He was the son of the late Attilio and Ida (Gatti) Manzelli.

He was the devoted husband of the late Arlene (DeVincent) since their marriage in 1967, the beloved father of Jayna M. and her husband Joseph Sollecito of Bedford, Laurel A. and her husband Brian Murphy of Winchester, and Leah D. and her husband Matthew Adams of Bedford.  "Grampy" absolutely adored his eight grandchildren, Ben and Emily Sollecito, Mia, Ally and Ava Murphy, Erin, Katherine and Meghan Adams. He could often be found cheering from the sidelines of their various sports events.

He leaves his brother, Robert A. Manzelli and his wife Barbara of Watertown, his sister, Marilyn J. Cookson and her husband John of Marston Mills, and sister-in-law, Jane (Raferty) of South Yarmouth, MA and many nieces, nephews and friends, all of whom he loved dearly. He was predeceased by his brother, Francis P. Manzelli.

Tom graduated from Boston College with a degree in business and worked diligently as the President and Owner of Manzelli Oil Company, Inc., in Watertown.  He was an ardent supporter of the Watertown Boys & Girls Club and proudly sat on their Board of Directors. Tom was active in the real estate industry, he managed several properties with care and compassion and was often called the "best landlord I ever had". He served his tenants with a generous and gentle heart, a legacy he wished his family to continue.
