Thomas L. Connors III, 79, of Bedford died on March 18, 2012, in Burlington.
Mr. Connors was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and was the son of the late Thomas L. II and Helen (Duffy) Connors.
Mr. Connors was a graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School and later attended Harvard University where he worked for the Radcliffe Radio station. He received his degree from the University of Michigan and completed post-graduate studies at Stanford University.
He was a midshipman in the U.S. Navy ROTC program and was assigned to the USS Missouri for several months.
Mr. Connors was a mathematician and worked for over forty years as a computer systems analyst for Mitre Corp. During his time at Mitre, he led their Tokyo office for several years. Mr. Connors was formerly with Raytheon and Livermore Labs.
He had lived in Bedford for 30 years and was most recently living at the Carleton-Willard Village. He was a former resident of Winchester and Littleton and was a past member of the Littleton Unitarian Church.
He is survived by two sons and their spouses, Thomas Connors and his wife, Janice of Quincy and Mark Connors and his wife, Cynthia Crowner of Stroudsburg, PA; his sister, Mique-Ann Malibashka of Queen Ridge, NJ; and two grandchildren, Sarah Marie Delaney of San Francisco, CA and Christopher Connors of NYC.
Interment will be at Shawsheen Cemetery, corner of Shawsheen Rd. and The Great Rd., Bedford, on Fri., March 23, at 11:45 A.M. A memorial service will follow at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 The Great Rd., Bedford, at 12:30 P.M. Relatives and friends are kindly welcomed at both services.
