Theodore C. Tremblay, 91, of Bedford, died on December 8, 2016 at his Bedford home surrounded by his loving family.

Mr.Tremblay was born in Boston, Mass. and was the son of the late Theodore A. and Alice (Benoit) Tremblay.

He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II and was honorably discharged as an Aviation Machinist's Mate, Third-Class in April of 1946.

Since 1952, he resided in Bedford in the house that he built with his own hands. He enjoyed ballroom dancing, was a former scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 114 in Bedford and he attended the Baptist church in Westford.

In 1961, he established his own business, Trem Products Co., located in Bedford and was awarded numerous patents. This company, now run by his sons, has successfully evolved into Tremco Police Products located in Billerica MA.

He was predeceased by his wife Ruth (Johnson) Tremblay, son James Tremblay, daughter-in-law Ann Tremblay, his brother Robert and sisters Agnes Tremblay, Jean Watremez and Yvette Higgins.

He is survived by four sons, Stephen of Bedford, Theodore and his wife Paloma of Australia, Mark and his wife Cheryl of Chelmsford and Gary of Bedford, his sister Rose Reid of Cambridge, 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

His funeral service will be held at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., Bedford, on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. Visitation at the funeral home will be on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Burial will be in Shawsheen Cemetery with military honors.

In lieu of flowers, an act of kindness was requested by Mr. Tremblay. During this Christmas season, please give a monetary gift of $10.00 to a homeless individual or to a homeless shelter.
