Thelma L. Cann, 86, of Huntsville, Alabama, died on May 2, 2012, at the Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville following a brief illness.

Mrs. Cann was born in Greenfield, Mass. on August 4, 1925, to the late Leon S. and Emma (Peterson) Kinsman.

She was raised in Greenfield and her family later moved to Carlisle. Mrs. Cann was a graduate of Concord High School and was a former member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Concord.

She later moved to Lexington, Mass. and was employed at the Carriage House Restaurant and also at Anthony's Restaurant both in Lexington. In later years, she worked as a real estate agent in Westford and retired from the D.C. Heath Publishing Company of Lexington.

For the past 18 years she has lived close to her son, Gregory, and his family in Huntsville.
She made many friends in the area and was until recently was an avid line dancer.
She enjoyed making hand braided rugs, intricate knitting projects and cross stitching.

Mrs. Cann was the beloved wife of the late George "Bill" Cann and mother of the late Douglas A. Cann.

She is survived by her loving son, Gregory and daughter-in-law, Sharon (Ebertshauser) of Huntsville, AL, her dear brother, of Kenneth Kinsman of Westborough, MA and sisters, Ginny Wilkie of NY and Linda Thorgerson of NH, two devoted granddaughters, Kristina Hutcherson and Nicole McDavid and cherished great grandsons, Matthew, Aidan, Joshua and James.

She was predeceased by her brother Roland and sister Barbara Potter.

Her graveside service will be held at Green Cemetery, Bedford Rd., Carlisle, Monday, May 7, at 11:00 A.M.

Visitation at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 The Great Rd., Bedford, Sunday, May 6, from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M.
