Stephen Popovac, 94, of Bedford died peacefully on December 17, 2023.

Mr. Popovac was born in Butte, Montana on December 28, 1928, and was the son of the late Obren and Margaret Popovac.

He was raised in Butte, Montana and graduated with a degree in Accounting from the University of Montana in 1952. Following his marriage to his late wife, Doreen (Rowe) Popovac, he resided in California before making Bedford his home in 1969.

Mr. Popovac served in the US Air Force from 1952 to 1958 and was honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant. He continued with the Air Force as a civilian auditor retiring from Hanscom Air Force Base in 1988.

He enjoyed skiing and boating with both of his sons.  His other hobbies include cycling, playing tennis and bowling.

He was the devoted husband of the late Doreen Popovac, loving father of Robert S. and his wife Linda of Walpole, New Hampshire and David S. Popovac and his partner Karen Sun of Bedford. He was predeceased by his brothers George Popovac and his late wife Bessie Popovac and Dan Popovac and his late wife Eileen.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Road, Bedford, on January 4, 2024, between 4:00-7:00pm.  The funeral service is private.
