Shaheen Jan Bossi, 52, died suddenly at her home on Saturday, January 25, 2014.

Born in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, she moved with her family to Scotch Plains, New Jersey and then became long time resident of Yonkers, New York. She attended the Halstead School in Yonkers and then graduated from New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire.

She was a lover of plants and nature, and engaged in many horticultural pursuits. Aside from raising plants and flowers, she married Stephen Raymond Bossi and they raised two boys, Jacob MacKay Bossi and Michael Stephen Bossi.

She found another calling in life and became a medical assistant, caring for people, in the mold of her father, Dr. Rafiq Jan, a doctor of more than 60 years.

Her mother, Meredith MacKay Corkum, resides in Hirtle's Beach, Nova Scotia, at the long time family home where her brothers, Shafiq and Arif Jan, all share life's most fond memories.

Shaheen is remembered for her spirit and love, for her energy and passion. She had a circle that was wide and deep, of family and friends, of love and connections, of impressions and memories. She is now watching over us, telling us to love each other, to hug our children, to embrace our life. To remember her is to celebrate; to celebrate is to remember her.

She is survived by her sons and husband, her mother and father, her brothers and sister Nazneen and her nieces and nephews.

A memorial and celebration of Shaheen's life will be held in the meeting hall of the First Parish of Bedford, the Unitarian Universalist community church on Saturday, February 1. Visiting hours will be from 10AM to 1PM. A memorial and celebration will be held at 2PM. Burial at Shawsheen Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
