Obituary

Ruth M. Nindel, 92, a former longtime Bedford resident, died in Chelmsford on January 21, 2013, following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Nindel was born in Boston on December 20, 1920, the youngest of eight children of the late Robert and Margaret (Faulkner) Campbell.

She was raised in Dedham and was a graduate of Dedham High School.

In September of 1943, she enlisted in the Women's Auxiliary Army Corps (WAAC) and served during World War II from 1943-1946. She was initially a clerk typist but became trained as an X-Ray technician. She was honorably discharged with a rank of sergeant.

In 1963 she moved with her family from Medfield to Bedford where she resided until 2003.

While in Bedford, she was employed by Millipore until her retirement in 1985.

She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Parish in Bedford and enjoyed walking and the outdoors.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert P. Nindel in 1989. .

Mrs. Nindel is survived by four children and their spouses, Susan Nindel and Paul Runkle of North Billerica, Jeanne Nindel-Edwards and Jim of Mukilteo, WA, Paul Nindel of North Billerica and Mark Nindel and Patricia of North Chelmsford. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Scott and Kimberly Runkle and Jessica and Joy Nindel-Edwards.

Her funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 100 Pine Hill Rd., Bedford, on Sat., Feb. 2, at 3:30 P.M.
