Rose Marie Cooney, 90, of Billerica died at her home on August 22, 2017.

She was born in Newton on February 2, 1927, and was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Micheline (Belviso) Giorgio.

Mrs. Cooney was raised in Newton and was a graduate of Newton High School, Class of 1944.

She had lived in Bedford for 50 years and was employed as an accounting specialist at Hanscom Air Force Base. She was a member of St. Michael's Parish in Bedford and where she was a CCD teacher, member of the Women's club and served on many committees.

She is survived by her loving husband, Donald Cooney, her devoted son, Keith E. Cooney of Billerica, her cherished granddaughter, Meghan Rose Cooney, her brother, Tony Giorgio of Florida, sister, Nancy Van Heest of Framingham and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her siblings, Salvatore, John and Joseph Giorgio, Mary Brown, Lena Ricardi, Theresa Murphy and Eleanor Mazzarella.

Funeral from the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., Bedford, on Monday, August 28, at 8:00 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Michael Church, 90 Concord Rd., Bedford, at 9:00 AM. Visiting hours at the funeral home on Sunday, August 27, from 2:00-5:00 PM.
