Ronald "Ron" J. Esposito, of Bedford, died on April 27, 2023.

He was the loving husband of Jane (Della Rocca) Esposito for 47 years. Son of Victor and Nicoletta (Quaratiello) Esposito, brother of Carol Lawson of Billerica, all who predeceased him.

Ron was uncle to Nicole Cordeiro, Kelley Lawson, and Paul, Steven, Michael, Richard and Nicholas Della Rocca. He was great uncle to Anna Maria, David, Scarlet, Jordan and Dylan Della Rocca and Chad Cordeiro Jr. and Nicolas Cordeiro.

He was born in the North End section of Boston, and then moved to Somerville at age 10. After he married Jane, Ron and Jane moved to Bedford.

Ron received a degree in mechanical engineering, cum laude, from Northeastern University, and later he received an MBA degree from Western New England College. He worked for Stone and Webster Engineering Corp., U.S. Department of Transportation, Millipore Corp., Andover Controls Corp., U.S. Army Natick R.D.&E Center, Boston College, as Assistant Director of Buildings and Grounds and finally, Tufts University, as Director of Building and Grounds.

Ron had a great passion and love for all sports, especially basketball and football. For fifteen years, he coached and refereed Bedford Recreation basketball games, for junior high school boys, with the help of many wonderful friends.

He then coached for Lexington-Bedford-Hanscom (LBH) Raiders football.

He also coached for several years at Curry College under head coach Skip Bandini. He was extremely proud to be in the Curry College Athletic Hall of Fame, Class of 2021, for men's Football (2007-2008). He then was an assistant coach for the St. Clement High School boys football team. And, finally, he was an assistant coach for the Groton-Dunstable High School boys Crusaders football team.

Ron was especially passionate and proud about, and enjoyed tremendously, volunteering his spare time to work for Skip Bandini's non-profit "MasterSports" Organization, which raised money to provide football scholarships.

His funeral will be held from the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., Bedford, on Monday, May 8, at 9:00 A. M. followed by a funeral mass in St. Michael Church, 90 Concord Rd., Bedford, at 10:00 A.M.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, May 7, from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M.
