Robert J. Yanosick, 85, of Bedford, died February 5, 2015, at his home in Bedford.

He was the husband of Joan E. (Sullivan) Yanosick who died September 19, 2012, after 57 years of marriage. He was the son of the late John A. and Dorothy Yanosick of Framingham.

He grew up in Framingham and graduated from Framingham High School with the Class of 1947.

Lieutenant Yanosick began working at Central Products Company of Framingham before he entered and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict for two years.

He worked for the Town of Bedford Fire Department, retiring with the position of lieutenant after 27 years of service.

Following his retirement, he worked for Bedford Charter Service Inc., driving a school bus.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #221, Bedford, a member of St. Michael Parish and the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his three sons and one daughter; Robert J. Yanosick Jr. of Haverhill, Richard F. and his wife Maura Yanosick of Scituate, Frederick Yanosick of Beverly and Linda Sheehan and her husband Brian of Chelmsford. He is also survived by his sister, Dolly Peterson of Norfolk, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by seven siblings.

His funeral will be held from the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., Bedford, MA on Thursday, February 12, at 8:00 AM, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Michael Church, 90 Concord Rd., Bedford at 9:00 AM. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 11, from 3:00-7:00 PM.
