Robert Hugh Powderly, 92, of Maynard and formerly of Waltham, died peacefully on Dec. 2, 2018, at home.

He was the beloved husband of 72 years to Virginia (Holland) Powderly.

Bob was a longtime school employee in Waltham and Bedford. Bob was born in Cambridge to Richard and Ethel Powderly.

Father to Patricia (Neil) Gillis, Robert, Holly (David Gertz), Virginia Powderly, Steven (Susan) and the late Catherine (Powderly) Onyechefule. Brother of the late Ruth Johnston, Marion McGrath, Doris Litchfield, Kenneth Powderly, Richard Powderly, Elizabeth O'Connell, Ethel Pellerin, Frances Sullivan and Paul Powderly. Survived by in-laws, Ellen Powderly and Arthur Pellerin. Grandfather of Raymond Emerson, Kimberly (Robert) Lento, Neil Michael Gillis, Mathew and Ryan Powderly, Jacquelyn Powers, Scott and Keith Marchione and the late Scott Powderly.

Funeral from the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., Bedford, on Friday, December 7, at 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Michael Church, 90 Concord Rd., Bedford, at 1:00 PM. Visitation at the funeral home on Thursday, December 6, from 4:00-8:00 PM.
