Robert Michael Jacobs, 78, of Billerica, formerly of Bedford, died suddenly on July 16, 2021, at his summer home in Wells, Maine.

He was born and raised in Everett and was the son of the late Joseph F. and Bridget V. (Kinsella) Jacobs.

Bob attended Christopher Columbus High School in the North End of Boston and graduated in 1961. Shortly following high school, he was drafted and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1964-1966.

He was a long-time employee of ComGas, now Eversource, where he worked as a street repair technician.

Bob was a parishioner at St. Michael Church in Bedford.

During the summer, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends at his home in Wells, Maine.

In his retirement, he enjoyed travelling with his wife, Mary, to many places including, Italy, Florida, Nova Scotia and even a train ride to California.

Above all, he loved spending time with his beloved wife, Mary (Keddy) Jacobs, who he deeply missed every day since her death in 2019.

He was the cherished stepfather of Denise Jantzen and her husband Peter and Michael Dwyer and his wife Stephanie, dear brother of Joseph Jacobs and his wife Joan, Lois Pasquerella and the late Francis Jacobs and the adored grandfather of Jennifer, Caroline, Cecilia, Grace, Peter Jr., Michael, Teddy and Emmeline.

Visitation will be held at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., Bedford, on Friday, July 23, from 4:00-6:00 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 24, in St. Michael Church, 90 Concord Rd., Bedford, at 9:30 AM.
