Robert G. Daly, 67, of Watertown died on March 1, 2013, following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Mr. Daly was born in Boston on September 5, 1945, and was the son of the late Francis J. and Mary A. (Linehan) Daly.
He was a lifelong resident of Watertown and a parishioner at St. Luke's parish in
Belmont.
In 1964, he enlisted in the Army and served during the Vietnam era, through 1968.
During his service he received a Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Ribbon, Vietnam Service and Campaign Medals, two Overseas Service Ribbons, Combat Infantry Badge and a Purple Heart.
After his service, he was employed by the Veterans Administration for over 43 years at the JFK Federal Building in Boston where he assisted fellow veterans with benefits claims.
He is survived by his brother Francis J. Daly M.D., of Greenville, MS
a sister, Mary C. Leahey of Williamsburg, VA and seven nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the E.N. Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital Chapel, 200 Springs Rd., Bldg. 81, Bedford, on Friday, March 8,at 9:30 A.M. followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M.
Interment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
