Robert (Bobby) C. Lincoln Jr., 71, formerly of Quincy, Boston and Hingham, died March 11, 2021, following a lengthy illness.

Born in New Brunswick, NJ, he was the son of Robert C. Lincoln of Hingham and the late Catherine (Brennan) Lincoln. Bobby graduated Hingham High School and earned his bachelor's degree from Columbia University.

For 38 years, he was employed at Mass General Hospital's inpatient psychiatric service (Blake 11), a job he held with much pride and dedication.

Outside of work, Bob was a gentle man of many talents. He enjoyed playing piano, gardening and was a painter who shared many gifts with family and friends. Bobby will also be remembered as an amazing cook. He delighted in preparing meals at the homes of friends and family, arriving with shopping bags of ingredients and exotic spices, hours later producing an amazing multi-course gourmet meal.

As the eldest of 8 children, Bobby was known as the keeper of family history and memories, frequently consulted to clarify details of childhood and family events. He often told his stories with a hint of humor, sharp wit and sarcasm, punctuated with his famous raised eyebrow for effect. Bobby was much loved by his large extended family and dear friends, notably his close childhood friend Margaret Keenan of PA.

He is survived by his father, Robert Lincoln, and his siblings, Richard Lincoln and his wife Denise of Hingham, Patti Lincoln and her partner Dan of Plymouth, Tom Lincoln and his wife Susan of Hingham, Mark Lincoln and his wife Eileen of Plymouth, Susan Lincoln and her partner Jen of Bedford, Molly Stone and her husband Ellery of Hingham and Michael Brennan Lincoln and his wife Rosie of Charlestown, aunts Anne Gaddis, Mary Ellen Connolly and Margaret Rose Blaha all of New Jersey, as well as 18 nieces and nephews, 9 grand nieces and nephews and many cousins.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
