Richard J. "Dick" Sullivan, 80, of Woburn, formerly of Stoneham, died peacefully on March 6, 2017.

He was raised in Watertown and was the son of Irish immigrants, Jim and Bridie (Callahan) Sullivan.

Mr. Sullivan was a graduate of Watertown High School, Class of 1953. After graduation, he served in the United States Army from 1954-1956.
He continued his education at Boston College and later received his master's degree from Boston State.

Mr. Sullivan was a social studies teacher and driver's education instructor at Waltham High School for 36 years before his retirement in 1998.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Janet (Hughes) Sullivan, loving daughter, Marie "Terry" Baca of Woburn, cherished grandchildren, Ellen and Luke Baca and brothers, James Sullivan of Florida, Leo Sullivan of Medford and Donald Sullivan of Brighton.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham, on Saturday, March 18, at 10:00 A.M.
