Richard G. Mizzoni of Bedford, MA passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife of 69 years, Peg and his family on Monday, September 2, 2024, at the age of 91 years.

Born on January 14, 1933, in Somerville, MA to Amelia and Guy Mizzoni, he was the middle son of three boys.

Richard "Dick" Mizzoni spent most of his working life as president and co-owner for businesses focused on manufacturing in the aerospace industry.

From 1953-1955 Dick served his country in the Army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict.

An avid Boston sports fan, Dick was also involved in Bedford Youth Hockey as a coach, leader, and spectator for his three sons during their youth. He enjoyed watching the many sports events for his children and grandchildren and could always be heard cheering from the stands.

Dick was passionate about golf through his later years in life and spent many years playing in Naples, Florida and York Beach, Maine. He also participated in many golf leagues in Bedford and surrounding areas.

He enjoyed many years of traveling with his wife taking trips to Europe, Thailand, and the Caribbean. After retirement, he enjoyed winters in Naples, Florida as a snowbird along with many friends and every summer in York Beach, Maine with his family and friends playing bocce, body surfing, and sitting in his blue chair with a gin and tonic on the porch to end each evening.

Dick was a man of wisdom and great humor, cherishing every moment he spent with his loved ones.

He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret (Fitzgerald) Mizzoni, his children Mark (Nancy) of Littleton, MA, Steven (Annmarie) of Gloucester, MA, Ellen Paul of York, ME, Richard (Kathy) of Littleton MA, Margaret (Troy) Husler of Estes Park, CO, his 13 grandchildren, Brian Mizzoni, Erin (AJ) Rauker, Meghan (Patrick) Meyer, Jacqueline Batista, Michael Mizzoni, Nicole Mizzoni, Timothy McCreedy, Daniel (Erin) Paul, Andrew Mizzoni, Matthew Mizzoni, Alexa Paul, Sean Mizzoni, Emily Mizzoni and 8 great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Abigail, James, Adam, Macklin, Jackson, Leo, and Griffin.

He was predeceased by his parents Amelia and Guy Mizzoni, and his brothers Joseph Mizzoni and Robert Mizzoni.

Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation at Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., Bedford on Friday, September 6, from 4:00-7:00pm.  A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church, 90 Concord Rd., Bedford on Saturday, September 7, at 9:00am. Interment will take place immediately following the Mass at Shawsheen Cemetery in Bedford.
