Richard J. Konig, 67, of Acton, formerly of Somerville, died on January 13, 2013, following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Konig was born and raised in Somerville and had lived in Acton for over 20 years.

He was a Vietnam veteran who served in the US Army from 1966 to 1968.

He was retired from Boston Edison where had had been employed as a lineman for many years.

Mr. Konig was the husband of Mary Regan, the father of Eric and his wife, Debora of Woburn, brother of Paul of Edgartown, Albert of Woburn and Mary Lou Flynn of VT and grandfather of Angelica.

His funeral will be held from the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 The Great Rd., Bedford, Fri., Jan. 18, at 8:00 A.M. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Michael's Church, 90 Concord Rd., Bedford, at 9:00 A.M.
