Richard J.
Golden
Sep 30, 1941 — Oct 8, 2024
Brooklyn
Richard Golden of Brooklyn, NY - beloved brother of Therese Berger, Michael Golden, Mary Golden, Cathryn Mancini (and the late Elizabeth Franck) passed away on October 8th, 2024 after a long battle with Alzhiemer's.
Richard was an avid reader and Librarian for Emory University for 31 years contributing vastly to the library's music collection while he lived in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
He enjoyed playing tennis, watching baseball games and was fluent in many languages teaching French and Latin at Saint Anthony's High School in New York or singing Italian operas to family and friends. He was a longtime lover of the Metropolitan Opera once joining them onstage as a guard during a live production. In his later years he moved north to be closer to his extended family of sisters, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews whom he cherished greatly - spending many happy summers with them at the beach. His gift for both intelligence and laughter will be missed by all who knew him.
The family will remember him at Bedford Funeral Home on Saturday, October 12th at 3 pm.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Richard's honor to one of his favorite places tinyurl.com/richardgoldenmet
