Richard L. Anthony, 87, a lifelong Bedford resident died at his home on November 13, 2012.
Mr. Anthony was born in Bedford on October 20, 1925, to the late Lionel and Wilhelmina (Snyer) Anthony.
He was educated in Bedford and was a World War II veteran. He served in the Navy from 1943 to 1946 when he was honorably discharged as a Seaman First Class.
Mr. Anthony was employed by the E.N. Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford as a machinist for many years. After his retirement from the hospital, he was employed by Bedford Charter Service for 12 years driving school buses in Bedford.
Mr. Anthony was a member of Bedford's VFW Post and the American Legion Post 221.
He was predeceased by his wife, Frances M. (Curra) Anthony this past July.
Mr. Anthony is survived by his sons, Lionel Anthony and his wife, Anita of Derry, NH and Philip Anthony and his wife, Jan of Bedford, grandchildren Richard Anthony and his wife, Sanaz, Thomas Anthony and his wife, Marguerite, Jennifer Anthony, Christine Ferrelli and her husband, Michael, Philip Anthony and his wife, Shana and Kathryn Anthony. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings William Anthony and Maybelle Lamoreaux.
His funeral will be held at the First Church of Christ, Congregational, 25 The Great Rd., Bedford, on Tues., Nov. 20, at 10:00 A.M.
Visitation will be on Mon., Nov. 19, from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.
Interment will be in Shawsheen Cemetery in Bedford.
