Obituary

Lt. Col. Raymond D. Sturgeon "Dewey", (USAF Ret.) passed away on April 10, 2021.

He was born on February 3, 1924, in Fowler, Indiana. He was a U.S. Air Force jet fighter in the Korean War, earning he Distinguished Flying Cross and two air medals for valor in combat. After retiring from the Air Force in 1970, he joined Raytheon as their chief pilot until 1985. Raymond and his wife, Elizabeth, enjoyed their frequent cross-country trips.

He was a member of the Heritage Park Baptist Church in Burlington.

Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth (Miller) Sturgeon, and son, Michael.

He is survived by his son, William Bradley (Loretta) of Summerville, SC, granddaughter, Jonelle, of Winchester and two great grandsons, Elisha and Evan.

Funeral services were private.

Burial with full military honors was at Shawsheen Cemetery in Bedford.
