Raymond J. St. Germain, 81, of Bedford formerly of Waltham, died in his home surrounded by his loving family, on July 29, 2015 following a brief illness.
He was born in Waltham on April 4, 1934 and he was the son of the late Arthur and Alma (Cormier) St. Germain.
Mr. St. Germain was a graduate of St. Charles High School in Waltham and was a member of the Class of 1951.
Following his high school graduation, he enlisted in the Army and served during the Korean Conflict from 1953-1955 and he was honorably discharged as a corporal.
He was employed as an electrician until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of Local 103.
He has lived in Bedford since 1991 and was a volunteer with the Bedford Council on Aging. He was also a daily communicant at St. Irene Church in Carlisle. He prepared the altar daily by lighting the candles for the Mass and also assisted with other parish duties.
He was the devoted husband of Louise M. (Sullivan) St. Germain, loving father of, Stephen J. and his wife Carla of Woburn, Theresa M. Linstrom and her husband Peter of Townsend, Thomas J. and his wife Beverly of Oakland, ME, Joseph A. of Oakland, ME, Ellen M. Steen and her husband Perry of Duvall, WA and John R. and his wife Kerry of Wakefield, brother of, Albert of MO, Leona Landon of Westwood and the late Wilfred, Edgar, James, Arthur and Paul St. Germain. Also survived by 15 grandchildren.
His funeral will be held from the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., Bedford on Saturday, August 1, at 8 AM followed by a funeral Mass in St. Irene Church, 181 East St., Carlisle, at 9 AM. Visitation at the funeral home Friday, July 31, from 5-7 PM.
Interment will be in Shawsheen Cemetery, Bedford.
