Obituary

Ralph E Laundry, 87 of Bedford MA , the beloved husband of the late Helen Laundry, passed away peacefully at home on December 20,2015.

He was born on Jan. 8, 1928 in East Boston, the son of the late George and Helen Laundry , where he spent his childhood and earned the nickname "Slugger" playing baseball on the neighborhood fields. After high school, he served for 4 years overseas in the Navy aboard the USS Los Angeles and loved to tell stories of his service and the pride he felt for his country. After the Navy, he married Helen and they moved to Bedford, MA where they raised their three sons .
Ralph worked as a printer at Smith Business Forms in Winthrop MA for over 30 years and then worked security at XRE Corp. in Littleton, MA for over 15 years. After retiring in 2000, he loved traveling with Helen and going out to lunch.

Ralphie was a big Red Sox fan and was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, being there for all the school , music and sporting events for his sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He leaves behind a great legacy.

He is survived by his three sons and their spouses; Thomas and Cheryl of Chelmsford, Stephen and Laurie of Bedford, Gary and Kim of Dunstable and four grandchildren; Janelle Hill and her husband Ben, Brian Laundry, Eric Laundry and his wife Lynden and Josh Adams; seven great-granchildren, Tyler, Ayden and Ella Hill and Owen, Mason, Gavin and Brooklyn Laundry, a sister Mildred Hamlin of Rehobeth MA, a nephew and friend Bobby Laundry, and many more nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Alice, George Laundry, Gladys O'Connell, Chester Laundry, Mabel Paine, Evelyn Whelchel, Robert Laundry and Jean Laundry.

Visitation will be held at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd, Bedford on Tues., Dec. 22, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. Private funeral services are planned.
