Ralph Harris, CMSgt, USAF, Ret., 80, of Bedford, Massachusetts peacefully passed away on Thursday, 16 March 2023.

Born on 12 May 1942 in Clear Water, Florida and he was the eldest son of Claude and Ida Mae Harris.  He graduated from Dale City High School in 1960 and attended Florida A&M University as a Running Back (RB) on a football scholarship.  After a football injury, he decided to leave college and enlisted in the United States Air Force.

Ralph honorably served in the military for 29 years ultimately retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant.  He was passionate about his military service. His hobbies included spending time with his family and playing and watching football, building model trains and boats, fine dining and traveling. His career allowed him to travel extensively, and he visited such places as Korea, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Panama and Curaçao. He loved spending time with family and friends and would not want to leave home without his trusted companions: Yorkie, Mrs. Jones, or his well-loved Phoebe.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Darick Jeanne Harris (formerly Monroe) of 60 years; daughters Allyssa L. Harris of Houston, TX, Allorria L. Harris and Allanna L. Harris of Bedford, MA. Extended family members include sisters Ernestine Berry of Florida, Rochelle Poinsette of Largo Florida; and adopted sons Armand Boutte, Bruce Moore, and Willy Villanova.

The family would like to acknowledge the loving support and friendship of the Bedfordshire community and the many co-workers and friends who impacted his life and career.  We are grateful that he was able to touch their lives.

A celebration of life will be held on April 5, 2023, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Road, Bedford MA 01730. Military honors will take place at 5:00pm.
