Phyllis I. Steiner, 91, of Lexington, died on October 27, 2024, in Winchester.

Phyllis was born in Chelsea, Mass. and was the daughter of the late Alfred and Rhoda (Woodford) Rendell and sister of the late Eric, Alfred and William Rendell.

She was raised in Chelsea and Revere and was a graduate of Chelsea High School.  After high school, she earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Bridgeport and completed her master's at Boston University.

She was employed at Metropolitan State Hospital and McLean Hospital in Belmont for many years.

She lived in Lexington where she was a member of the Church of Our Redeemer for over fifty years.

She was the wife of the late John W. Steiner who died in 2017. She is survived by her sons, John of Lexington and Jay and his wife Marlene of Lewisporte, Newfoundland, 5 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, October 31, at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 The Great Rd., Bedford, from 10 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
