Philip L. Sullivan, 72, of Acton, formerly of Solon, Ohio, September 9, 2016.
He was born on February 13, 1944 and was the son of the late James and Helen (Thomas) Sullivan.
He was raised in Solon, Ohio and moved to Acton in the 1970's where he resided for 35 years.
Philip attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), where he earned his undergraduate and master's degree in electrical engineering. He later began working at Raytheon where he spent 30 years working as an electrical engineer.
He greatly enjoyed the outdoors, especially walking at Walden Pond in Concord, hiking and visiting waterfalls. He was an avid cribbage player and thoroughly enjoyed teaching others the ways of the game.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Ellen Sullivan, his nephews, Patrick and James Sullivan, and his niece, Laura Sullivan. He is also survived by many friends. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother, Paul F. Sullivan and his sister, Sharon Sullivan.
Visitation at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., Bedford, on Monday, September 12, will begin at 4:00 PM followed by a service at 5:00 PM.
