Pat was born in Concord, Mass. on May 12, 1946, and was the son of the late Norman C. and Mary (Talcott) Mix.

He was raised in Bedford and was a graduate of Bedford High School, Class of 1964.

Following high school, he was drafted in the Army and served with the 82nd Airborne Division in North Carolina and then served in the nuclear demolition unit of SAC in Kansas. While in the Army, he was an all-Army boxer as a welterweight and ran track in the Penn and Drake Relays.

On the day he returned home from the service, his father died suddenly at the age of 56. He immediately joined his mother in the operation of the flower wholesale growing business and then later, with his wife Cheryl, at Mix Flowers, a commercial florist. After closing the flower growing business following the OPEC oil embargo in 1973, he worked many years at Digital Equipment Corporation in Maynard and for the past 15 years, he was a machinist at Diversified Technologies in Bedford. In all his work history, he took great pride in the companies and most importantly his many friends and co-workers.

Pat was very active throughout his life and enjoyed boating, fishing, running and biking. He took great pride in his home and the gardens he carefully planned and tended.

Pat and Cheryl had just recently moved to Chelmsford to be closer to their two grandsons.

He is survived by his wife of [45] years, Cheryl (Lousararian) Mix, his children, Becca Mix of Boston and Douglas Mix, and his wife Leah, of Chelmsford and his loving grandsons, Jameson and Jackson. He was a loyal friend, staunch supporter (and frequent emergency maintenance man) to his many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. His surviving siblings are Tom and Carl Mix and Jane Sinkes. He was brother to the late Ky (Caroline) Gordon.

Visitation will be held at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 The Great Rd., Bedford, on Tues., March 8, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. A funeral service will be held graveside on Wednesday, March 9, 11:30 AM at Shawsheen Cemetery in Bedford.
