Muriel "Jeanne" Stockdale, 79, of Bedford, died on June 8, 2016.

She was born in Richmond Heights, Missouri and was the daughter of the late Charles and Muriel (Provost) Robinson.

Mrs. Stockdale was raised in West Lafayette, Indiana. She attended college at Purdue University, where she earned her Bachelors of Science in political science.

She was a grade school teacher briefly in California and Indianapolis and in later years was a substitute teacher in Bedford and Lincoln public schools. She and her husband have enjoyed living in Bedford since 1970.

Mrs. Stockdale was a member of the AAUW.

She enjoyed classical music and the symphony, playing bridge, her book club and had a love for traveling.

She was the loving wife of Thomas C. Stockdale, devoted mother of Kevin Stockdale of Athol, Mary Hankins of Panama, Carolyn Stockdale of Belmont and Holly Stockdale of Newton and the caring sister of Joan Robinson of San Mateo, CA.

Visitation will be at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 The Great Rd., Bedford, on Friday, June 17, from 6:00-8:00 PM. There will be a memorial service at First Church of Christ, Congregational, 25 The Great Rd., Bedford, on Saturday, June 18, at 11:00 AM.
