Muriel P. Leary, 70, of Bedford and formerly of Needham, died on January 5, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Boston and was the daughter of the late Edward and Muriel (Young) Sullivan.

Muriel was a graduate of Roslindale High School Class of 1966.

She briefly lived in Dedham, then in Needham for 25 years before moving to Bedford.

Often, Muriel could be found fulfilling her sense of adventure on a snowmobile or a Jet Ski. She was a member of the Mousam Valley Snowmobile Club for nearly 15 years.

Spending time at Square Pond in Maine brought Muriel much joy. Her greatest joy, however, were her children and grandchildren.

In her retirement, Muriel always looked forward to and enjoyed spending time during the winter months in Juno Beach, Florida, alongside many great friends and her cousins.

Muriel will always be remembered as a caretaker to everyone and a great friend who was always there.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Richard E. Leary, her loving children, Maura Topol and her husband Joseph of Carlisle, Mark Leary of Maine and Meaghan Leary of Maynard, her cherished grandchildren, Harrison, Maxwell and Benjamin Topol and Ryleigh Green and her brothers, Edward and Peter Sullivan.

Visitation will take place at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., Bedford, on Saturday, January 12, from 3:00-6:00 PM.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
