Obituary

MSGT Lucius R. "Lew" Draper, 80, of Bedford, died on November 5, 2013 in Chelmsford.

Lew was born in Vassar, Michigan on August 19, 1933, and he was the son of the late Lee and Edith (Bushnell) Draper.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in1951 and was stationed overseas during the Korean Conflict. After eight years in the Army, he transferred to the Air Force where he served until 1972. He was honorably discharged with a rank of Master Sergeant.

In the early 1950s, while stationed in Nahant, Mass., he met Virginia Burgess and they were married on December 1, 1956. After moving several times they settled in Bedford forty-one years ago.

Following his military service, Lew worked at Microwave Associates in Burlington as a quality engineer. He retired from the company in 1990.

He always enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia, three children and their spouses, Bruce and Barbara Draper of St. Louis, Missouri, David and Cheryl Draper of Bedford and Sandra Draper and Joel Warner of Huntington Beach, California, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Draper.

A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 100 Pine Hill Rd., Bedford, on Monday, November 11, at 2:00 P.M.
