Obituary

Milton Renwick Moffett, 94, of Bedford, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 26,1930, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Milton dedicated his life to his service in the military, family and in his community.
Milton proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1946 to 1969, achieving the rank of Tech Sargent. His military career took him to various parts of the world, including Germany, Japan, and locations around the U.S.

He married his wife Leona in 1949 and traveled with their young family eventually settling in Bedford, Massachusetts where he retired. His commitment to his country and family was unwavering, and he was a source of inspiration to all who knew him.

Following his distinguished military service, Milton continued to serve his community as an optician, owning two optical shops in Bedford and Belmont. He worked for nearly 50 years and was known for his compassion and patience. Milton submerged himself in the senior community, fixing glasses and bringing sight to those he had the pleasure of working with. He left a lasting impact on those he served and worked alongside.

In his retirement, Milton enjoyed photography, gardening, working on clocks, and volunteering at the local senior center.  He was an avid photographer with a particular interest in landscapes. His photographs would light up a room.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Leona (Lemmons) Moffett in 2013 and his daughter, Jacqueline in 2018.

Milton is survived by his children, James, Carolyn and Milton; his grandchildren, and his sister, Cornelia. His legacy of service, love, and dedication will forever be cherished by his family and friends.
