It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Tecci of Bedford, MA who departed this life unexpectedly on September 8th, 2025, at the age of 45 following a tragic motor vehicle collision when he was outside exercising.

Born on May 17th, 1980, in Boston, MA, Mike was a devoted husband to Katherine "Katie" (Collins) Tecci, formerly of Sanford, ME and a loving father to his children, Xander and Nolan. From the moment they came into his life, his children were his pride and joy, a source of immense love and laughter. He cherished every moment spent with them, always making sure they felt secure and loved

A graduate of Northeastern University, he built a career as a structural engineer where he worked tirelessly in this role and took great pride in the buildings he helped design or rehabilitate.  Throughout his career at Simpson, Gumpertz & Heger, what was most meaningful to him was his role in leading the co-op and internship program.  Over time he recruited and mentored dozens of students who went on to become successful engineers, many who are still with his company.  He saw talent in these rising stars and nurtured them to become leaders themselves.  His role as a mentor didn't stop when he left the office.  Michael was a current board member, and former mentor for the ACE Mentor Program of Greater Boston which helps to engage high school students, often inner-city, to pursue careers in architecture, engineering, and construction.

Within the Bedford community, most kids just knew him as "coach".  He was dedicated to his sons, Xander and Nolan, to their friends and the community at large.  Even with already too much on his plate, he always volunteered to coach several teams each season.  Forever instilling values of hard work and dedication, he was a competitive leader on the fields and was always an advocate for his players.  Mike's presence and leadership will be missed greatly.

Mike leaves behind a legacy of love and will be deeply missed by his devoted wife and children, Katie, Xander and Nolan of Bedford, MA, his parents, Joanne & Ralph Deuterio of Revere, MA, brother Albert Tecci and his wife Melissa Tecci and their children Emilia and Theo, also of Revere, MA.  Extended family includes his aunt Maria Como and cousin Michele Como of Hooksett, NH, cousin John Como and his wife Katie Como and sons Ace and Cameron of Jersey City, NJ, father-in-law Thomas Collins of Alfred, ME, mother-in-law Mary Collins of Sharon, MA, brother-in-law Ryan Collins, his wife Brittany and nieces Minnie and Penny of Mansfield, MA and brother-in-law Kevin Collins, his wife Carrie and niece Nina and nephew Marty of Sharon, MA.    He was preceded in death by his grandparents Michael and Carmela "Millie" DiStefano and his beloved Auntie Joyce DiStefano, all of Boston, MA.

As a final gesture of kindness, generosity, and spirit, Michael gave in death as he gave in life.  His commitment to be an organ donor allows him to live on and continue to help improve the lives of others.

Visiting hours to celebrate his life will be held at Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Road, Bedford, MA, on Sunday, September 14th from 2pm to 6pm.  A private funeral will be held the following day.
