Meixian Chen passed away in peace on Monday, October 3, at her family's residence in Iselin, New Jersey. She was 99.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, LinXuan Kong, whom she married in 1935 in Ningbo, China. They were united in marriage for 39 loving years; he preceded her in death of 1974.

She is survived by four children, five grandchildren, and their spouses: daughter Daiyun Kong, son-in-law YiFan Shi; eldest son Joseph Kong, daughter-in-law JunJie Chen, grandson Philip Kong and his wife Eunice Chiang, grandson Enoch Chen and his wife Vinita Chen; second son Jiarong Kong, daughter-in-law LuDe Tang, grandson Zheng Kong; youngest son Peter Kong, daughter-in-law Dorcas Kong, granddaughter Joanna Kong and her husband Hang Li, and granddaughter Joyce Chiu and her husband Mei Chiu.

She was born on January 6, 1917 in Ningbo, China. She came to the United States in April 1988 where she lived in NJ to care for her granddaughters. She then moved to Boston, where she called the St Helena House home for almost 20 years.

Famous for her sharp memory and intellect until the very end, Meixian was happiest when telling stories or reminiscing about the past in amazing detail. She will be remembered for her devoted love and friendship, sewing and knitting prowess, mastery of Solitaire, and love of animals (both live and stuffed).

Funeral services entrusted to Bedford Funeral Home at 167 Great Rd, Bedford, MA 01730. Visitation and memorial services to celebrate her life will be held private for family members.

She will be interred in the Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
