Maurice "Pete" L. Sternberg, 90, of Chelmsford and formerly of Bedford, died on July 16, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Annapolis, Maryland and was the son of the late Maurice and Alice (Lee) Sternberg.

He was a US Marine Corps veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict and was a baker on many ships. He also was employed as a baker at Sally Ann Food Shop in Concord and at Concord Caterers. In later years, he drove a school bus for Bedford Charter and Doherty's in Lincoln.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and golfing.

He is survived by his wife, Marcia (Larsen) Sternberg, four children, Marcia DiNitto, Maren Corcoran, Kip Sternberg and Marie Lee, nine grandchildren, April, Jenny, Josi, Nicholas, Christopher, Lindsay, Kelly, Nicole and Julie, his sisters, Mary Santos and Jackie Maguire and 12 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., Bedford, on Thursday, July 20, from 9:00-11:00 AM. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 AM, followed by burial at Shawsheen Cemetery, Bedford.
