It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Regina (Reggie) Heyman, age 83, of Bedford, MA on May 6, 2025.

She was the daughter of Marie and Gerald Roche of Springfield, MA and is survived by her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Evelyn and Dan Silber of Lexington, MA and Joseph and Berna Heyman of Williamsburg, Virginia and many nieces and nephews.  Her husband Albert Heyman died in September of 2024.

Reggie grew up in Springfield, MA and earned a Bachelors' Degree from the College of Our Lady of the Elms in Chicopee, MA.  She married Albert Heyman in 1966 and moved to Bedford.  Reggie was very athletic and loved tennis, swimming, and bicycling.  She and Albert treasured their time together and they spent many happy hours at Walden Pond and on the tennis courts in and around Bedford and the beaches near New Bedford, where Albert grew up. She was very creative and loved to draw. Her religion was very important to her, and she enjoyed attending church and bible study meetings at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Bedford, where she had many friends. She was passionate about her cats and loved to tell stories about them.

Reggie battled mental illness for much of her life. Gradually, as knee injuries and subsequent knee replacement surgeries forced her to give up athletics, her life changed.  After the two knee replacements, she was too afraid of the pain from physical therapy to continue it, so her mobility drastically decreased.  She also suffered from numerous other health issues and eventually, she needed to be in a nursing home. We thank the staff of the Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley for caring for her until the end of her life.

Private funeral services were held.
