Mary Pin Chang's Obituary
Dr. Mary Pin Chang of Bedford, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on January 23, 2013.
Dr. Chang was born on October 26, 1930, in QingDao, China to Mr. Chang, ZhuSan and Lu, JiuHua.
She had two bothers, YuanChang Liu and DinMin Chang.
Dr. Chang grew up as a Christian and cherished Christianity throughout her life.
Dr. Chang came to the US when she was 18 to attend University of St. Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas and then to Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington where she received her BA degree. She earned her Ph.D. in Chemistry at University of California at Berkeley in 1954.
Dr. Chang married Dr. T. C. Lin in 1954, in Cambridge, Mass. before moving back to China in 1955. She immigrated back to the US in 1989 and lived with her daughter Cindy Lin's family in Bedford, Mass. ever since.
Dr. Chang was a lifelong learner and stayed active throughout her life. Even at an advanced age, she enjoyed working at TJ Max as a part time associate and enjoyed learning new computer programs up till her death.
She was predeceased by her husband Dr. T. C. Lin and is survived by her daughter, Jeannie Lin and her husband WeiJian Ye of Hoffman Estate, IL; Daughter, Cindy Lin and her husband Dr. Check Lee of Bedford, Ma and her son, Dr. Bo (Boyang) Lin and his wife Katherine Lin of Ricardson, Tx as well as 5 grandchildren, William, Helen, Thomas, George and Andrew.
Viewing will be held at Bedford Funeral Home, 167 The Great Road, Bedford, Ma between 7-8:30 pm on Friday, Feb. 15th and a memorial service to celebrate Dr. Chang's life will be held at the same place on Feb., 16th, at 10:30 A.M.
