Martin "Marty" P. McDonnell, 60, of Maynard and formerly of Bedford died suddenly on July 11, 2018.

He was raised in Bedford and was a graduate of the Bedford High School class of 1975.

Marty worked at Millipore for over 30 years where he enjoyed working with many former classmates, and beloved friends. He loved participating in Tuesday night golf league where he brought so many laughs to the course each week. He was a member of the Sons of American Legion Post 221, Bedford and had recently joined the Maynard Lodge of Elks. He will be remembered for his devotion and love for his family that brought strength and pride to all of us. His love for competition whether it be endless racks of pool, or a round on the golf course will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife Candace McDonnell, his sons Daniel and Patrick, daughter Kelly, and their respective significant others girlfriend Alexa, fiancee Ellen and boyfriend Rob. His Mother Mary (McMahan) McDonnell, his siblings Kathleen Busa and her husband Kenneth, Theresa Blake and her husband Jimmy, and his nieces and nephews Katie, Tara, Timmy, Andrew, Kim, and Tyler. He was predeceased by his father, Edward T. McDonnell and brother, Daniel McDonnell.

Visitation will be held at The Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Road, Bedford, on Monday, July 16, from 4:00-8:00 PM. His funeral will held from The Bedford Funeral Home, on Tuesday, July 17, at 8:00 AM, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Michaels Church, 90 Concord Rd., Bedford, at 9:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Maynard Lodge of Elks Post 1568 where Marty spent many hours laughing and enjoying precious moments with family and friends. He believed in all that the Elks stood for, and we would appreciate his memory to live on in a place that holds great memories of him.
