Martha G. Smith, died peacefully on October 18, 2022, her 92nd birthday, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Boston and was the daughter of the late Frederick T. and Mildred B. (Foster) Gilbert.

She received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Mrs. Smith had lived in Lexington for many years and was a loving mother, grandmother and friend.

She is survived by her children, Derek Smith of Lexington and Diana Swift and her husband Mark of Lexington and two grandchildren, Lauren and Michael Swift.

Private services were held at the Bedford Funeral Home followed by burial in Westview Cemetery.
