Marguerite G. Hamilton, 89, of Bedford, died on March 13, 2015, following a brief illness.
Mrs. Hamilton was born in Marlborough on November 25, 1925, and she was the daughter of the late Francis and Marguerite (Hutch) Gill.
She was raised in Medford and was a graduate of Medford High School, Class of 1943.
She had lived in Bedford for the past 52 years and was a retired office manager with the Bedford Public School System.
Mrs. Hamilton was very active in the Bedford community and a devout member of St. Michael Parish. For the last 12 years she has been a member of the St. Michael Arimathea Society. She was also a Eucharistic Minister and served on many parish projects. She enjoyed attending programs at the Bedford's Council on Aging and the Red Hat Society.
A talented artist, she loved working with watercolors. She was a longtime member of the Bedford Arts and Crafts Society and until recently had served as Treasurer.
She was predeceased by her husband Harold V. Hamilton in 2000. She is survived by her children and their spouses; John V. Hamilton and Mary of Foxboro, Mary H. Cutler and Andrew of Dover, NH and Ann H. Cathcart and Daniel of Nashua, NH; grandchildren, Steven and Colleen Hamilton, Keilly, Caite, Nadine and Jennifer Cutler and Ryan and Taylor Cathcart and brothers; John Gill of Chuluota, FL, Francis Gill of Milford and James Gill of Millinocket, ME.
Her funeral from the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., Bedford, Monday, March 16 at 8 AM, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Michael Church, 90 Concord Rd., Bedford at 9AM. Visiting hours at the funeral home on Sunday, March 15 from 2-6 PM.
