Margaret "Jane" Button, 96, of Bedford, passed away on September 15, 2024 after a long and fulfilling life.

Jane was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Robert and Ethel (Wand) Wells. She and her sister, the late Priscilla Wells, travelled widely during their childhood due to their father's career in the US Navy. After graduating from the University of Rochester, she dedicated many years of her career to the MIT Lincoln Laboratory as a technician.

Jane was a talented gardener and a longtime member of the Bedford Garden Club. She loved animals and often recalled fond memories of her childhood dog, Bonzo. She was an avid reader, adventurous traveler, and an enthusiastic scholar of history.

She is survived by her nephew, Paul Wells, and his wife, Helen, of Eden Prairie, MN; their daughter, Emily, of Williamsburg, VA; as well as the children of her late partner, Ralph MacLean: Kathy, Chick, Karyn, and Patricia.

Funeral services will be private.
