BEDFORD
Louise Mary St.Germain, a cherished mother, grandmother, and dedicated nurse, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2024. Born on January 9, 1936, in Boston, Massachusetts, she was the beloved daughter of John James and Agnes (Sullivan) Sullivan.
Louise graduated from Girls High School in Boston in 1953 and pursued her passion for nursing at the Peter Bent Brigham School of Nursing, graduating in 1956. Her career as a registered nurse was marked by compassion and dedication, culminating in her retirement from McLean Hospital in Belmont in 1996.
In 1957, Louise married the love of her life, Raymond St.Germain. Together, they built a life filled with love and family, moving from Waltham to Bedford in 1991. Louise and Ray enjoyed traveling to destinations including Alaska, Panama and Međugorje, and they cherished their summers at the lake in Maine. Louise was predeceased by Raymond in 2015 and their son Joseph in 2024.
Louise's life was enriched by her love for watercolor painting, writing, and her commitment to community service, particularly through her volunteer work at the Bedford Council on Aging. Her creative spirit and generous heart touched many lives.
She is survived by her children: Stephen (Carla) of Woburn, MA; Theresa Linstrom (Peter) of Townsend, MA; Thomas of Waterville, ME; Ellen Steen (Perry) of Duvall, WA; and John of Wakefield, MA. Louise was a proud grandmother to 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, who will remember her warmth and wisdom. She was predeceased by her siblings Barbara, Daniel, David, Arthur, Richard and John Sullivan Jr.
Visitation will be held at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 The Great Rd., Bedford, on Friday, December 6, from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Irene's Catholic Church, 181 East St., Carlisle, at 11:00 A.M.
Interment will follow at Shawsheen Cemetery in Bedford.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Lazarus House Ministries, 412 Hampshire St., Lawrence, MA 01841 or to Rosie's Place, 889 Harrison Ave., Boston, MA 02118.
Louise Mary St.Germain will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
