Lorraine C. Kirk Bonner, 89, of Bedford, died surrounded by her loving family, on December 8, 2020.
She was the daughter of the late Arthur R. and Jessie (Mackinnon) Delorey.
She was raised in Belmont and was a graduate of Belmont High School. Following graduation, she went to work with her father at Paine Webber in Boston.
She met her husband, James H. Kirk in 1950, while he was in the Army and stationed at Ft. Devens. They were married in 1952 in Belmont MA.
In 1960, the couple moved to Bedford to raise their family. Following Jim's death in 1982 of cancer, Lorraine became more active within the Bedford community. She was an active member at the First Church of Christ, Congregational in Bedford and especially enjoyed volunteering at the church fair, Meals on Wheels and drove cancer patients to appointments. Her volunteer position at Emerson Hospital later turned into a permanent job and she became a member of their transport service team.
Lorraine was a founder of the Bedford Community Singles Club. She enjoyed travelling, especially to Europe. Her other interests included watercolor painting and knitting. In addition, she contributed her sewing talents, creating costumes for Bedford High School musical productions from 1971-74.
After many years alone, she found love again and married James J. Bonner in 1995. They were married until his death in 2008.
She was the loving mother of Carolyn J. Kirk of Bedford and James A. Kirk and his wife Manja Yirka of Goshen NY; beloved sister of William Delorey and his wife Patricia; cherished grandmother of Geoffrey Chase, Wendy Lentine and her husband Matthew all of Bedford, Alyssa Stone and her husband Joshua of Tampa FL and Molly Kirk of Goshen NY; dear great grandmother of Kylie Molinari and Avery Lentine of Bedford.
Private funeral services are planned.
