Lois was born on August 20, 1924, in Medford, Mass. to the late Donald E. and Anna R. Emerson.

After graduating from Medford High School in 1942, she was trained at Boston Dispensary to be a lab technician at the old Carney Hospital in South Boston.

She was married on July 28, 1951, and lived in a Somerville apartment, giving up her career with the birth of her first son, Kenneth in 1953. The family moved to Bedford after the birth of second son, Allan in 1955.

Lois enjoyed family camping with full family including her father, Donald Emerson on trips across Canada and USA several times and New England campgrounds too. After retiring from Weather Services Inc., Lois and Don enjoyed four riverboat trips and four bus trips in the USA and Canada.

Lois was eligible to become a member of several genealogy chapters and joined: Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the American Colonies, Order of First Families of Connecticut, National Society of New England Women and National Society of Colonial Dames of XVII Century. Lois was also a member of the Bedford Garden Club.

Lois was the Town of Bedford Election Officer since 1977 and Warden since 1977 and received a letter of thanks for her service by the Selectmen in 2006.

She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Donald M. Brown, four devoted sons, Kenneth and his wife, Sharlene of Lawrence, Allan and Robert of Bedford, Laurence and his wife, Kay of Bedford and beloved daughter, Carol of Acton., one grandson, James of Lawrence and one great grandson, Jeremiah of Lawrence.

Her funeral service will be held at the First Church of Christ, Congregational, 25 the Great Rd., Bedford, on Monday, October 1, at 10:00 A.M. followed by interment at Shawsheen Cemetery in Bedford.

Visitation will be at the Bedford Funeral home, 167 The Great Rd., Bedford on Sunday, September 30, from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M.
